The Summer Shoe Edit: Espadrilles

The Summer Shoe Edit: Espadrilles

Memorial Day Weekend means summer is finally here! It also means (assuming the weather cooperates), that I can trade in sneakers for sandals and stop having to worry about the standing of my sock drawer. I pulled together a couple of my favorite styles of espadrilles, perfect to get you in the summer mindset.

At 5’2” I’m pretty short so wedges are one of my favorite styles of shoe. They’re perfect for summer weddings, anything involving grass, and so much better than heels in New York because of all the subway grates. I’ve featured the cognac Steve Madden wedges on the blog before here and they’re still one of my favorite shoes. All three styles are pretty similar but come in a couple of different color options. If I could own a pair of each, I would.

Lace up espadrilles, either flat or in wedge form, are so fun and I especially love the gingham laces on the pair from J.Crew. Last I checked they were sold out online, but check your local store to be sure! They also come in olive green, navy with navy laces, and white.

I feel like I’ve been seeing espadrille sneakers EVERYWHERE lately. They popped up out of nowhere and now they’re all over! I love the stars print on this pair for a fun twist.

Last but not least, the classics. I’ve been waiting until I found the perfect pair before buying any and I finally caved and got bright coral Soludos espadrilles with lemons on them (similar to the bottom left but different base color). I didn’t include them because they’re sold out but you can check them out here. I can’t wait to wear them all summer! I think the pool floats take the cake; they’re the most fun pair by far. How could you not love them??
