Monday Musings // Philly Highlights
Because I’ve been absolutely terrible at keeping up with the blog, it’s been a month since I was in Philly and I’m first getting this post up now. Better late than never though, right??
One // Bistrot La Minette - First things first, this was the most amazing French food. When I was in 9th grade I went to Paris and had snails for the first time and really liked them but haven’t had them since. Lily and I got the snails appetizer to split and they were even better than I remembered. Garlicky, buttery goodness served in teeny tiny pots; needless to say we devoured them in approximately two minutes. I got the braised short rib and my only complaint was that the portion was too small. If you’re ever in Philly 12/10 recommend this restaurant for a nice dinner.
Two // The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company - If you’ve been reading the blog for a while, you probably know I LOVE speakeasies. I posted about Please Don’t Tell over the summer and have continued to love finding new ones. UES is currently top of my list! Going back to Philly though, Lilly took me to The Franklin Bar, otherwise known as ‘The Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company’. They have a regular bar upstairs and the speakeasy is downstairs. It actually reminded me of PDT in terms of set up, but it was much easier to get into (perks of it not being in NYC). It was dark with an extensive specialty cocktail list and a very cool vibe. It’s perfect for starting or ending the night or for a more casual, laid-back night!
Three // Gal Meets Glam Collection - Julia Engel has been one of my favorite bloggers for as long as I can remember. I love that I can always turn to her site for classic, feminine style and that it’s always different from what other bloggers are sharing. Everything she does inspires me and her dress collection is absolutely amazing. I couldn’t help but order two dresses and I’m (not so) patiently waiting for them to arrive! I got the Olivia and the Helen in pink! I can’t wait to share them with you!
Four // The Perfect Grad Dress - Continuing the trend of dresses, I stumbled across this lace midi from ASTR the Label and think it would be perfect for graduation! I’m a classic white for graduation kind of gal but it comes in cute pastel tones as well if white isn’t your style! The best part? It’s under $100 and could definitely be worn again!
Five // Spotify Sessions: Singles - I know not everyone is a huge Taylor Swift fan, but I had to share that I’ve had her cover of ‘September’ on repeat for the past week.
